Dr Annie Antonites, Curator of Archaeozoology and Large Mammals at the Ditsong National Museum of Natural History, gave an interesting talk on an exciting art-and-science project, transforming natural history museums into vibrant spaces for shared learning and creativity.
The Co-Mammal Hub initiative tackles global biodiversity challenges and seeks creative solutions to refresh outdated museum displays. It encourages public learning and engagement through "chat" sessions and "co-create" workshops, where participants are actively involved in the design of new and interactive displays.
This new approach has resulted in incredible creativity, meaningful conversations, and a renewed sense of ownership in conservation.
