The initiative which aims to raise awareness and give back to organisations making a difference in communities affected by GBVF, saw a collective of private and government institutions come together and take a stand in a show of solidarity, and raise funds for Nikithemba foundation. Nikithemba Foundation is a Pietermaritzburg based non-profit organisation that works with youths from disadvantaged backgrounds on various programs including Gender-Based Violence awareness and education amongst many others.
CEO of Nikithemba Foundation, Mr. Vusi Mthembu was quoted as follows, "Your generosity affirms what we always say: "𝐍𝐨 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭." This contribution will go a long way in empowering our programs, strengthening our outreach, and allowing us to continue doing the work that often goes unseen but changes lives in powerful ways.
As a foundation that started with limited resources but an abundance of passion, receiving this support reminds us that we are not walking this journey alone. KZN Museum and uMsunduzi Museum has not only invested financially but has also invested emotionally in our vision — and for that, we are truly grateful."
Thank you to everyone who joined in support of this event, as well as to all our partners and sponsors who contributed to making a difference in the fight against Gender-Based Violence & Femicide.
Congratulations to the winners on the day
