The selection process for the Robben Island Spring School Camp History Competition continued yesterday, as the Museum's outreach team travelled to UThukela District, where participating learners from Amangwane High School, Limehill High School, Wembezi High School, Escourt High School, and Tabhane High School gave their oral presentation of their essay submissions.
Following stiff competition, Namhla Shabalala (Tabhane High School) came in 1st place, with Alwande Majola (Limehill High) coming in 2nd place and Abongwe Hadebe (Amangwane High) taking 3rd place. A big congratulations to Namhla Shabalala, who joins Lwandolwethu Mcunukelwa (Kokstad College), as part of team KwaZulu-Natal for the upcoming Robben Island Spring Camp in Cape Town.
The final leg of the selection process will take place this coming week at KZN Museum, where the final member of team KwaZulu-Natal will be chosen. Wishing the participating learners all the best!
