KwaZulu-Natal Museum’s Exhibition Department conceptualises, designs and oversees both the permanent and temporary exhibitions within the Museum. We also produce travelling displays that take our museum into public spaces, increasing public engagement and interaction.
We feature a dynamic collection of both natural science and cultural history exhibitions. The main highlights of our permanent collections include: the Warren Mammal Hall, which houses Africa’s largest collection of taxidermied African mammals while our Marine Gallery explores life found in our oceans. The attractions in our cultural history galleries include period rooms that allow you to travel back in time to the Victorian era, after which you may find yourself immersed in a Drakensburg cave with displays featuring South African rock art.
Join our vibrant exhibition’s team on a never ending journey of discovery as we continue to celebrate our African heritage by creating exhibitions that are 'edu-taining', by encouraging public interaction and participation in a dynamic lifelong learning experience.
