
The KwaZulu-Natal Museum celebrated International Day for Biological Diversity under the theme, "๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐
๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐," paying special focus on the role of modern technology and Artificial Intelligence in Biological Diversity.
Environmental stakeholders comprising of Wildlands (WildTrust), UKZN School of Life Sciences , Sappi Southern Africa , GroundTruth , Institute of Natural Resources , along with the Museum's Natural Science Department delivered insightful and interactive presentations on biodiversity and engaged learners from 7 local schools with a hands-on session, showcasing the role of modern technology/AI in Biological Diversity and how these technologies are ustilised within their respective institutions and fields for the betterment of our biodiversity.
The day's activities underscored the importance of biodiversity to life on Earth and illustrated just how valuable a tool technology is in the enhancement of biodiversity conservation and the fight against wildlife crime.
By combining innovation with conservation, we can create smarter, more effective ways to protect and sustain Earthโs biodiversity for generations to come.
