Cell C Take a Girl Child to Work Day 2020 goes digital due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The aim of this workshop to assist learners to get back on track with learning and stay focused.

Since the lockdown has affected everyone for the first we will be including boys in the programme, which has traditionally been targetted only to girls.

The workshops will unfold over 3 days on a digital platform, using Google Meet, 23 July, 21 August and 18 September.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀.

This would allow us to reach the youth (inclusive male and female), assisting them with hopeful career choices moving forward especially during these unprecedented times.

It is extremely difficult to get learners or schools to participate in events amidst the Covid 19 as schools are barely functional with a trimmed syllabus, lack of time and intermittent closures due to the pandemic however, by offering incentives such a teacher aids (notes), learning materials and technology that promotes learning in the new normal digital age, we can secure learning, interest and participation.

Workshop 1 :
Date: 23^rd July (the two remaining workshops will take place on the 21/08 and 18/09) The grand prize will be awarded at the end of the three workshops.

School: Bethel Christian Academy
Grades: 8 & 9 inclusive (boys and girls) for 2020 promoting equal empowerment of the youth during Covid 19 pandemic as prescribed by Cell C
Topic: Discovering your path
Activities: Learners will attend an online presentation on topics of personalities and career choices, goal setting, museum careers, job shadowing, completion and submission of the workbook
