KZN Museum has partnered with the Upper West Side Community Group, Duzi-uMngeni Conservation Trust and Project Gateway in the Camps Drift Spring Clean-Up Campaign. The aim of the project was to initiate the river clean - up which ultimately will better serve the community, schools, and the environment. The clean-up centered around the removal of invasive alien species as well as solid waste. Other partners in the project include SANBI, Liberty NPO, Umgeni Water, Isibane Industries and Alumicor. The next phase will take place on the 21st of September where we as the KZN Museum will provide support through education to primary school learners on rehabilitation through indigenous planting.

#arbourday competition winners popped by the Museum to collect their prizes! Happy planting to all of them.

They each took away a tray of spinach seedlings and the main prize winner also won a Cape Ash sapling. We will follow later on with pictures of how these are doing in their gardens!
