Asanda Ntshingila is one of the new marketing interns at the KZN Museum as part of a 12 month Cathsseta internship. This internship is a programme designed to give university and university of technology graduates/learners an opportunity to extend their academic qualifications with structured workplace exposure and specialised training. Participants are offered a full-time placement in a company or government department, to provide the learner with workplace experience that builds on the qualification.

Asanda is keen on self-improvement and describes himself as a go-getter and self-starter. Asanda is passionate about striving for greatness, setting out monthly goals and going after what you want in life.

Wishing Asanda growth and a successful future at the KwaZulu-Natal Museum.

As part of the ongoing upgrades in the KwaZulu-Natal Museum, the pillars at our reception is getting a new look. Clayton Flanagan who is one of our interns in the Exhibitions Department, has been working on this project and has been inspired by the Ndebele patterns.

Before painting Clayton had to ensure proper planning was conducted and that his measurements were accurate so that all the pillars have a cohesive and identical look. The project should be completed for visitors by the end of January 2021.

The KwaZulu-Natal Museum is always upgrading its appearance so that it has a more modern look and remains fascinating to visitors. There is always something new to see at the Museum so be sure to come visit us and you’ll be amazed at how much has changed.
