Tricia Pillay
Research Technician

I am the research technician of the Arthropoda collection. My professional duties include maintaining, enhancing, conserving and preserving one of the largest and most representative collections of Afrotopical Diptera specimens in Africa. I also assist with the other collections when necessary.

I have training in the taxonomy and systematics of the African pollinating flies as well as a postgraduate certificate in the care and management of natural history collections. While I have an interest in the forensic and agricultural importance of insects, my goal is to promote best practices in collections management at the Museum.
