In celebration of Mandela Day, the KZN Museum, in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General in Durban, proudly launched the "American Voices Against Apartheid" exhibition. This powerful exhibition will be on display for a year, highlighting the global fight against apartheid.
The launch event was attended by Umvuzo High School, Nyonithwele High School, KZN Museum staff, and the vibrant cultural dance group Ofeleba. The KZN Museum Director warmly welcomed everyone, setting the stage for an unforgettable day.
A highlight of the event was a poignant poem recited by KZN Museum staff member, Sboniso Gcumisa, capturing the harrowing realities of apartheid and moving the audience deeply. The U.S. Consulate General shared inspiring words on the significance of this initiative. The ceremony concluded with the official opening of the gallery by the Consulate General and the KZN Museum Director.
