20th International Rock Art Congress

rock

Ghilraen Laue, a curator in our Human Sciences Department, recently attended the 20th International Rock Art Congress IFRAO in Darfo Boario Terme, Valcamonica, Italy. The congress saw over 500 delegates from five continents come together to present on different aspects on rock art from around the world. Ghilraen presented three papers on aspects of rock art management in the Maloti-Drakensberg World Heritage site, the history of research into regional differences in southern African rock art and rock art and ethnography. While there she also had a chance to visit two rock engraving sites in Valcamonica. #ifrao#ifrao2018#kznmuseum#archaeology
