Volunteer wins prestigious bursary

Congratulations to Angela Ferreira, a volunteer in the Department of Human Sciences during 2019, on receiving the prestigious Harry Crossley Bursary, which is awarded to students of exceptional academic merit. Angela, who has been working on digital photogrammetry of rock art, historical archives, and on Khoisan community identities while at the museum will use the bursary to study her Masters degree at the University of Cape Town. She will be writing her dissertation under the guidance of Professor Carolyn Hamilton, who is the director of the renowned Archive and Public Culture Initiative. Angela will research how concepts of Khoisan identity have changed over time. Sadly, this means that Angela will be leaving the museum so that she can spend her time working on her research. The KZN Museum wishes her all the best for her future career.
