Sabalala Nolwazi Expands to Zululand District: Taking Museum Learning on the Road
The KwaZulu-Natal Museum is excited to share that its flagship education programme, Sabalala Nolwazi, is growing! This much-loved outreach initiative is heading to a brand-new region, the Zululand District, where it will bring fun, hands-on learning to 13 more primary schools.
Running from 22 to 25 April 2025, this next chapter of Sabalala Nolwazi will be delivered by the Museumโs passionate Education Outreach team, working hand-in-hand with the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute. Together, theyโll be visiting the following schools: Babanango, Buhlebelanga, Embudle, Landulwazi, Goje, Kujabuleni, Hlungulwani, Twasana, Bhekamakhosi, Jongimfundo, Dingane, King Mageba, and KwaThengisangaye.
The Sabalala Nolwazi Outreach Programme is all about making learning exciting and accessible. It supports learners in Grades 4 to 7 by offering engaging, CAPS-aligned content in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Through real museum specimens, fascinating artefacts, eye-catching visuals, and interactive experiments, the programme brings subjects to life, right in the classroom.
This expansion marks a proud moment for the KZN Museum and its partners, highlighting a shared commitment to enriching education, one school at a time. By meeting learners where they are, Sabalala Nolwazi continues to break down barriers to quality education, ensuring that even the most rural schools have access to inspiring, hands-on learning experiences.
Stay tuned as we share stories from the road, and the smiles from learners discovering the magic of museum learning!
