Herpertology
The Herpertology collection is not as large as the invertebrate collections in the museum and none of the current staff are working on it. Most of the work done on this collection is by researchers from other institutions such as the University of the Free State. Most of the material in the collection was and continues to be donated by Ezemvelo KwaZulu-Natal Wildlife. The catalogued specimen in this collection are as follows: Frogs — 6522, Lizards — 682, and Snakes — 481.
