Linda Davis has been employed as the research Technician in the Mollusca Section since 1991. Prior to working at the museum she was employed at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (scientific illustrator) and UKZN, Department of Botany.
It is her duty to manage the KwaZulu-Natal Museum Mollusca collection which is the largest both in Africa and on the Indian Ocean rim. In addition she has provided technical support to the researchers, and taken part in a number of collecting trips, most notable of which has been three trips to Madagascar. She is also required to do databasing of all new specimens being added to the collection and oversees the loans database, as well as to manage all the loan material.
She has been using her expertise and experience as a scientific illustrator to produce illustrations for departmental publications, both scientific and popular.
